SUNGHEE STEPAK
BIOGRAPHY

Sunghee Stepak has been playing the piano and singing since the age of 6. She has played the keyboards and sung in various pop, jazz bands professionally since 1992.

She moved to Canada from South Korea in 1998 and finished her Music Diploma in 2000 at Selkirk College in Nelson, BC during which she performed with the college jazz band. She was also nominated for a BC Scholarship in 1998. She sang at the Moscow, Idaho International Jazz Festival in 2000.

In 2000, she also moved to Victoria where she performed her original compositions as well as pop and jazz standards with her trio.

She also performed in the 2002 Summer Festival at the Centennial Square, was a guest on CFUV 101.9 FM which aired her 2 CDs, Motherland & Bewitched, appeared in the film, Victoria Siren with her original tune, the Journey of Soul in 2001.

Sunghee holds a Kindermusik Certificate. Sunghee studied Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Voice at Capilano College for three years in Vancouver, BC.

Sunghee has instructed music lessons at: University of Victoria (as a guest instructor), David-Cameron Elementary School, Westmont Elementary School, Monterey Community Centre, Cedar Hill Community Centre, Fernwood Community Centre, Juan de Fuca Community Centre, False Creek Community Centre, Roundhouse and Coal Harbour Community Centres in Victoria & Vancouver, BC. and at the James Bell Community School in Toronto, Ontario in 2009.
